Heat exchangers from Lackeby Sweden in Europe’s largest biogas plant

slib-water warmtewisselaars biogascentrale

Lackeby’s sludge-water heat exchangers from Sweden are used to recover energy at the Albertstroom biogas plant in Grobbendonk Belgium.

In this plant, biomass – primarily organic biological waste – is fermented into biogas. The biogas formed is then used in a gas engine with cogeneration to produce electricity and heat. Albertstroom (Grobbendonk) is Europe’s largest biogas plant in which the most diverse types of waste streams can be processed. It produces green electricity for 25,000 families.
